Press Release

InnerTrek, a psilocybin service center founded in Portland, Oregon, announced Thursday it has been approved and licensed by Colorado’s Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) to provide required training to students on the path to becoming state-licensed psychedelic practitioners within Colorado’s newly legal framework.

Anyone in the country and abroad can now apply to the school, the company said. InnerTrek now offers required training for prospective facilitators in both Oregon and Colorado. According to the company, the blueprint is laid for more states to follow, intimating a nationwide psychedelic access model aligned with InnerTrek’s vision and core programming.

“InnerTrek’s expansion into Colorado reflects a successful unfolding of the state-regulated model of psychedelic care and the emergence of a powerful new paradigm when it comes to mental health and wellness services in this country,” said Tom Eckert, InnerTrek’s founder and executive director. “We’re excited to prepare facilitators to the highest standards of care and bring this healing modality to those most in need in Oregon, Colorado and beyond.”

InnerTrek’s Facilitator Training School opened in Oregon in 2022, and, as of this fall, will have graduated just over 300 license-ready students in Oregon and across the country through its in-person and virtual options. The school’s primary education program, approximately 200 hours in length, now offers in-person intensives at nature-based retreat centers outside of Portland and Boulder.

Additionally, InnerTrek is offering a state-approved accelerated legacy path in Colorado for experienced psychedelic facilitators who have already completed comprehensive training in the emerging field. The school’s abbreviated program provides an efficient avenue to state licensure in Colorado.

Earlier this year, InnerTrek opened its Center for Psilocybin Services in Portland, housing the primary option for the training program’s legally required practicum component while also offering a spectrum of innovative community-focused psilocybin therapy programs for the public.

Enrollment for InnerTrek’s facilitator training program is now open to anyone worldwide, with the legacy pathway program beginning at the end of 2024 and the full program beginning in February of 2025. The enrollment application and full program details can be found at innertrek.org.
