Alert: Cannabis Industry Alliance of Oregon – Casey Houlihan Steps Down as Executive Director, Announces Departure

Here’s the announcement

February 17th, 2023

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with a heavy heart that I find myself writing to you all today to announce that I am stepping down from my role as Executive Director of ORCA, a position I have held since the organization’s founding nearly ten years ago.

It has been a wild ride over the past ten years as we have worked to build a robust and responsible cannabis industry here in the great state of Oregon. We’ve had our fair share of victories and setbacks, laughter and tears – and through it all, I have been honored to work alongside so many incredible humans to help make our shared vision a reality.

But now it is time for me to step aside and focus on my health. I have been dealing with some serious medical issues that require my full attention and energy – and unfortunately, that means that I am no longer able to devote the time and effort that this role deserves.

I want to assure all of you that I have the utmost confidence in the leadership of the newly merged Cannabis Industry Alliance of Oregon and its new Executive Director – my close friend, colleague, and our long-time Co-E.D.,  Jesse Bontecou. I know that they will continue to carry forward with the same passion and dedication that we have all brought to this work over the past decade. I will continue to be a part of this community in whatever capacity I am able, and I am excited to see all of the great things that the future holds for our industry.
