Yes.. not the most exciting piece of news but it’s indicative of the local Australian demand…

Australian Primary Hemp recently announced its imported hemp dehuller — the only one of its kind and size in Australia — will process hemp seed from its base at Geelong.

APH sales director Skye Patterson said demand for hemp seed has boomed since the dehuller had been up and running.

“It has also allowed us to release a new line of products including hemp seeds, Hemp Balance and Hemp Boost,” Ms Patterson said.

The new products will join APH’s existing line of hemp oil.

Established in 2016, APH recently received an agriculture award at the Geelong Small Business awards.

APH logistics manager Mitch Costin said the company has hired an additional three staff members since January 2018, along with eight casual staff to help package hulled hemp seed.
