Ballots May Have Gone Through But What Will Trump Appointments Mean To Cannabis Industry In The USA?

9 November 2016

Yes in the main the ballots all went through with good majorities but as CLR watched Trump’s acceptance speech we do ask,  What happens if….

Chris Christie: Attorney General?

CNN Report  16 April 2016

Radio Show Interview with Iowa radio host Hugh Hewitt

“Marijuana is a gateway drug. We have an enormous addiction problem in this country. And we need to send very clear leadership from the White House on down through the federal law enforcement. Marijuana is an illegal drug under federal law. And the states should not be permitted to sell it and profit from it.”

Giuliani: Attorney General ?

“We’d be much better off telling people the truth. Marijuana adds nothing to the array of legal medications and prescription medications that are available for pain relief.”

On top of this we do have to ask the open questions with regard to DEA re-scheduling conversation. Will they take their lead from the ballot results or directions from the new White House administration.

Last but not least. Will James Comey  after showing his colours last week decide to take a J Edgar Hoover approach toward legalized marijuana.

With regard to President elect Trump The Business Insider reported earlier this morning his stance on medical marijuana but there have been as yet no public comments on states that have voted for recreational cannabis

“In terms of marijuana and legalization, I think that should be a state issue, state-by-state,” Trump told The Washington Post. “… Marijuana is such a big thing. I think medical should happen — right? Don’t we agree? I think so. And then I really believe we should leave it up to the states.”

He has also expressed support for medical marijuana, telling Bill O’Reilly in February that he’s, “in favor of medical marijuana 100%.”

“I know people that have serious problems and they did that they really — it really does help them,” Trump said.

As Forbes reports this morning “Now, the question is, will President Trump allow it?”

And Weed News also has a very cautious tone today
