Bangladesh – Three students sent to jail in case over possessing LSD

A Dhaka court on Friday sent three private university students to jail in a case lodged over the first ever seizure of LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) drug in the country’s history.

The accused are North South University (NSU) students Sadman Sakib Rupol and Ashab Wadud Turjo, and Independent University of Bangladesh (IUB) student Adin Ashraf.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nivana Khayer Jessy passed the order as police produced the trio before the court after the end of their five-day remand in the case and pleaded to keep them behind bars till the end of probe in the case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah on May 30 placed the three on five-day remand each in the case.

Police on May 26 arrested the accused and seized 200 LSD blotter papers from their possessions.
