Berkeley Now Looking At Decriminalized Psilocybin

First Oakland, now Berkeley report Beard Bothers in their weekly newsletter

Berkeley, California is looking to become the 2nd major city in the state to make the move to decriminalize the personal use and possession of psychedelic psilocybin mushrooms for adults ages 21 and up. Though the initiative is not finalized quite yet in Berkeley, a key committee in the city council did advance the measure this week and advocates expect it to be the law of the land by the end of November. This is the perfect time to slip this sort of law past the small but vocal conservative crowd in Berkeley as they are currently losing their shit over the fact that the city just voted to stop using the term “manholes” and instead will make city workers refer to them as “maintenance holes” as local officials voted unanimously to replace about 40 gender-specific words in the city code with gender-neutral terms. We are all about inclusion here at Beard Peoples Pharms but this one seems a bit ridiculous. When you consider that the homelessness rate in the city has doubled since 2017, it seems like he/she/they/them might have more pressing matters to attend to.
