Charges against a now-former Indianapolis police officer accused of growing marijuana have been dropped, according to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Marion County courts last week dismissed two marijuana possession-related charges against Christina Slack, a 22-year veteran with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, after it was determined law enforcement officers violated her constitutional rights during the December search of her home, resulting in the evidence not being usable.

The dismissal comes nearly eight months after police in court records said they responded to a disturbance at a home shared by Slack and her boyfriend at the time and when they arrived, they smelled marijuana.
