Chacruna Debunks 6 Racist Myths from the Psychedelic Community

Dr. Monnica Williams, Dr. Darron Smith, Dr. NiCole Buchanan, and Cristie Strongman, members of Chacruna’s Racial Equity and Access Committee and leading researchers and activists in the psychedelic field, draw from their experience and expertise to deconstruct problematic ideas around race which people often turn to psychedelics to legitimize.

While not avowedly racist, and even promoted as post-racial, these myths nonetheless represent blind spots which are impeding the psychedelic community from coming together to fix its own diversity problem and also from fulfilling its potential as a force for racial justice more widely.
