Florida: Deputies seize $600,000 worth of psychedelic mushroom candy bars, marijuana products in Lowndes County

WTXL.com reports on just another day in Florida………The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office seized pounds of illegal drugs valued at approximately $600,000 and bundles of cash in a series of traffic stops on I-75 this week.

On Feb. 10, deputies stopped a vehicle for a registration violation and driving with no headlights which resulted in the recovery of nearly eight pounds of marijuana and over three pounds of THC-laced edibles.

Deputies said the two suspects, identified as Laurie Hardway and Paula Sue Taylor from Addison, Mich., were taking $50,000 in marijuana and THC edibles from Michigan to Daytona, Fla.

Both have been charged with felony possession of a schedule I substance and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

The same day, deputies stopped another vehicle for a traffic infraction.

The attempted stop then turned into a chase where deputies utilized a precision immobilization technique (P.I.T.) to stop the car, LCSO reported. The driver and passenger, Tony Jerome Henry and Jeremy Tims, were arrested.

When LCSO deputies searched the car, they found and seized nearly four ounces of marijuana and five bundles of cash valued in excess of $40,000.

On Feb. 11, deputies stopped another car for a traffic infraction.

During the stop, they said they found 45 pounds of marijuana, 400 Psilocybin (magic mushrooms) candy bars, and 250 THC vials.

Jason Greer was arrested in connection to the drugs.
