Bureaucratic frustration at Berlin cannabis clubs: Stoners can get legal weed much faster elsewhere – in 60 minutes
A year after cannabis legalization, Berlin cultivation associations are still battling with authorities. Only one club has been able to distribute its harvest. There are more convenient alternatives.
Almost a year after the launch of non-commercial cultivation cooperatives, seven Cannabis Social Clubs (CSCs) have received cultivation permits, as the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lageso) announced on June 12. Harvests are planned for Lichtenberg, Pankow, Reinickendorf, Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Marzahn-Hellersdorf, and Treptow-Köpenick. Another Berlin CSC plans to produce in Brandenburg. Decisions are pending on a further 18 applications. Why is progress so slow in the capital?
