Ince & Co Lawyer, Robert Jappie, Advises Isle of Wight Cannabis Company

The Isle of Wight County Press Reports

HOPES to establish a cannabis research facility on the Isle of Wight have taken a step forward with an industry specialist now on board.

Island-based cannabis research company Vecticanna has announced a new partnership with CBD law expert Robert Jappie, a partner of Ince London.

The company said Robert brings a wealth of experience in CBD regulation and compliance to the business, having previously headed the UK’s first dedicated cannabis law department, as well as being instrumental in obtaining the first cannabis license in England for the case of child Alfie Dingley in 2018.

The move to bring this industry specialist alongside the existing panel of academics and doctors has been a key focus for the Vecticanna board to strengthen their case for the Island’s very own research facility.

Isle of Wight County Press:

Director Adam Mawer said: “Having Robert join us will strengthen our application as it reaches its final stages and bring a wealth of knowledge around cannabis law here in the UK for our proposed research facility here on the Isle of Wight.

“We’re incredibly pleased to have this industry-leading lawyer supporting us with our future research activities and the benefits it can bring to the local economy, as well as the worldwide research of the health and medical benefits of CBD.”

Vecticanna — which incorporates WightCBD and Island Hemp Farm Ltd — will bring year-

round employment opportunities for Islanders with the hope the site will eventually employ more than 60 people, working within the pharmaceutical cannabis marketplace.
