The Narcotics Cell of Pune Customs arrested three persons after 120 kg of marijuana was allegedly seized from their possession at the Solapur railway station.
A press release issued Saturday stated that the suspects transported the marijuana by train.
Acting on a tip off, officials of the Pune Customs laid a trap at the Solapur railway station on the night of February 8, under the guidance of Commissioner Yashodhan Wanage, and Deputy Commissioner Shweta Nivdange.
During surveillance, the customs team comprising Superintendent Sushant Tyagi, inspectors Amit Patel, Vinod Kumar, Mahesh Yadav, Piyush Jain and tax assistants Viraj dhokale, Ashish Awati and Vikas Havaldar, apprehended three persons at the spot.
About 120 kg marijuana estimated at Rs 40 lakh was found in their luggage.
