Ireland: Two Arrests after Skerries Cannabis Seizures

Gardaí seized over €120,000 of suspected cannabis in Skerries on Thursday evening.

Around 6:45 on Thursday evening, members of the Divisional Crime Task Force DMR North, along with the Balbriggan Drugs Unit, carried out a search of a residence in the Mourne estate area of Skerries.

Around €800 of cannabis was discovered, along with a weighing scales.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and has since been charged and released on bail.

In follow-up searches at another residence in the same area later that evening, a haul of €120,000 in cannabis was found in five large vacuum packed bags.

Another man in his 20s was arrested during the course of this search.

He was detained and has been released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The raids were carried out by Gardaí investigating the sale and supply of drugs in the area.
