Ireland: Two arrests following €225,000 drugs seizure in Louth

Two men have been arrested following the seizure of drugs worth €225,000 in Drogheda, Co Louth.

The seizures were made following searches at houses in the Bryanstown Court and the Riverbank areas yesterday.

Gardaí say that around €180,000 of cannabis herb, €45,000 of cannabis plant and €7,000 in cash were recovered across the two locations.

The drugs will be sent for further analysis.

The arrested men, who are aged in their 30s, are being detained at Drogheda Garda Station.

 

Separately, €120,000 worth of suspected cocaine was seized by gardaí in Co Laois yesterday.

The seizure was made when a vehicle was stopped in the Cappakeel area of Portlaoise yesterday afternoon. The drugs will be sent for further analysis.

A man in his 40s was arrested and is being held at Portlaoise Garda Station.
