Kenya: American With Coke In His Rectum denies allegations of drug possession

An American national, Jarod Tyler Roberts, has denied allegations of drug possession after authorities allegedly found drugs in his rectum.

Roberts was arraigned before Senior Principal Magistrate Njeri Thuku, where prosecution documents presented in court indicated that he was found carrying 60 grams of cocaine through his body cavity[rectum].

The prosecution further stated that the recovered cocaine, extracted through an endoscopy procedure, was valued at Ksh 240,000.

According to reports, Roberts had checked into MP Shah Hospital in Westlands under the care of his friends, complaining of severe abdominal pain after allegedly ingesting suspected narcotics.

Enters Plead Deal

Through his lawyer, Danstan Omari, Roberts requested to be held at Gigiri Police Station instead of Industrial Area Prison, citing the need for accessibility as he had crucial information to share with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) as part of a plea bargain.
