I’m hosting a workshop on Saturday, entitled “Introduction to Legal Risk Mitigation for Entheogenic Religious Practitioners in the US.” This addresses common sources of legal risk for entheogenic religious practitioners in the US and potential mitigation strategies. We’ll examine the legal landscape at the state and federal levels and discuss things that practitioners can consider to help create or strengthen religious-use defenses to criminal prosecutions. We’ll also talk about some of the challenges in suing the government to secure your legal status and some of the major sources of civil liabilities that entheogenic religious practitioners can face.
