Procedures for granting production licenses are underway and first medical marijuana infused products should be available at pharmacies across Macedonia by the end of this month, Health Minister Nikola Todorov told a press conference on Saturday.
Adopting of amendments to the law on control of drugs and psychotropic substances has made the use of cannabis products for medicinal purposes available to people suffering from serious illnesses, such as malignant diseases, Multiple sclerosis, HIV and childhood epilepsy, Todorov said.
The Health Care Ministry, in cooperation with the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices, will also invite foreign experts to train domestic medical specialists and pharmacists about safe and effective use of cannabis products.
