Starting on Tuesday, Metrc will be hosting webinar-based trainings for any businesses that have already received a conditional license from Maine’s Office of Marijuana Policy. In order to register, you will need to have your individual identification card number (IICxxx) and the number of one of your conditional licenses. The conditional license number starts with ACB, AMS, ACC, ACD, or AMF depending on the category of license, and is followed by a three-digit number (ex. ACB101). You can find the license number on the copy of the conditional license that was e-mailed to you, or on the notice of application fee that you received upon filing an application. If you have not yet obtained a conditional license, OMP is requiring that you wait until you receive one or more licenses before signing up.
Training classes will occur 3x/week and continue for the foreseeable future, giving prospective licensees ample opportunities to get trained. There will also be trainings in the future that will be targeted toward more advanced users of Metrc’s interface.
Training classes will be offered on the following days and times beginning on June 2nd:
- Tuesdays at 1:00 PM
- Wednesdays at 9:00 AM
- Fridays at 10:00 AM
Completing the training and successfully passing a comprehension examination on the system is required for all designated track and trace administrators.
We strongly recommended that any employee planning to operate in the Metrc system take the new business training course to ensure they uniformly and accurately utilize the system. Before any applicant will be issued an active license for a marijuana establishment, however, the designated track and trace administrator for that business must take the training and pass the required exam.
Training is available through the Metrc website at: https://www.metrc.com/maine. The link to register appears below OMP’s logo as “Schedule Training Now.”
If you have questions, please reach out to a member of Drummond Woodsum’s Regulated Substances practice group.
