Executive Training: The Essentials for Cannabis Businesses

Description

On January 1st, 2018, legalized recreational marijuana use in California became reality. Along with this came new laws, new regulatory bodies, and many new regulations to govern the new industry. But, on January 4, the U.S. Attorney General rescinded the Cole memo, signaling a return to full enforcement of federal drug laws related to marijuana. Registration is online.

This McGeorge Capital Center for Law & Policy executive training will cover the essential knowledge participants will need to start a cannabis business in this environment of chronic uncertainty. Instructors will explain the interplay between federal and state laws and regulations, California’s regulatory structure governing the adult use market, the risks of entering the industry, and give an overview of insurance products and key coverages businesses in the industry need.

Intended audience includes community members and non-lawyer professionals interested in the new adult recreational cannabis industry, students, and attorneys.
