Moorpark industrial hemp ban extended for another year..Why? It’s too smelly

The VC Star reports…

Moorpark’s industrial hemp ban has been extended for another year.

The extended ban runs through Dec. 16, 2021.

The prohibition was initially enacted last December in response to complaints from dozens of residents of the southern part of the city about strong odors coming from permitted industrial hemp farms in the neighboring Tierra Rejada Valley in unincorporated Ventura County.

One of those residents, Mardi Douglas, urged the council at last week’s virtual meeting to extend the ban, saying during public comments that “the amount of suffering that goes on with the hemp is incredible.
