New Jersey School First to Permit Consumption of Medical Marijuana use on Campus

Late Wednesday, school administrators in New Jersey adopted rules to permit students with developmental disabilities to consume cannabis in non-smokable forms on campus. The action was taken In compliance with the requirements of a law signed by the New Jersey Governor earlier this week (Bill A4587). Medical Marijuana was first legalized in New Jersey in 2010 under the State’s “Compassionate Care Act.”

Following is a link to a NJ.com story written by Susan K. Livio, which provides a good discussion of the new law and rules, as well as background on the case which led to the measures. http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2015/11/nj_teens_school_adopts_medical_marijuana_policy_to.html
