CANFIELD TOWNSHIP — Trustees have unanimously approved a 360-day moratorium on adult-use cannabis operators.
This board finds it to be in the best interest of the township to implement this moratorium for the further study of the regulatory framework for adult cannabis operators as it is being developed and implemented in the state of Ohio,” township Trustee Brian Governor said at the meeting Tuesday.
He said it buys time to better check into the matter and make an informed decision on how to move forward in controlling cannabis operations.
On the Briarwood Court paving project, trustees had approved Kirila Contractors of Brookfield at the March 14 meeting to grind and repave the road. Kirila’s bid was $398,109. They gave a start date for the week of Aug. 26, the same week as the Canfield Fair.
“That could be a problem,” Governor said. He suggested asking the contractor if it could move the date.
