Oregon Psilocybin Services (OPS) is sharing the following announcement on behalf of the Oregon Background Check Unit (BCU): The Background Check Unit (BCU), serving Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), is hosting a Rules Advisory Committee (RAC) regarding aligning the background check administrative rules with the proposed OPS rules. You are welcome to observe the meeting and provide written comments. We are planning to file these rules with the Secretary of State for an effective date of February 1, 2023.

The RAC will be discussing Proposed Background Check Administrative Rules. These proposed rules incorporate the current rules in OAR chapter 407 division 007 with the proposed addition of Oregon Psilocybin Services (OPS) subject individuals to the background check rules with special consideration to ORS chapter 475A requirements. We have highlighted the updated text in the Proposed Background Check Administrative Rules in the following sections:

There are some edits involving minor corrections, but the vast majority of changes are for other population groups subject to the background check rules.
