Pakistan: Karachi: PMSA, Customs recover hashish worth Rs 810 million, arrest five

Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and Pakistan Customs in a joint operation on a tip-off foiled an attempt to smuggle hashish in the open sea. During the operation, 5 suspects were arrested and 2 tons of hashish was recovered.

According to the DG Operations of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, the accused were smuggling 2040 kg of hashish in the open sea.

The PMSA and Customs Intelligence conducted a joint operation and detained the suspects, including the boat. The arrested suspects are from Iran.

Additional Director Customs Intelligence Rana Taslim said that intelligence reports were received about the smuggling and an action was initiated to foil smuggling bid adding that a case would be registered against the accused.

The DG Operations of the Maritime Security Agency further said that the network of arrested accused would be nabbed soon.

The value of hashish recovered was Rs 810 million.
