The Melbourne Ages reports….
A man with the same infamous name as others killed in Australia’s underworld has been jailed after police found drugs inside a cereal box in his garage.
Pasquale Barbaro, 30, shares the same name as at least three men who were killed, most notably the Pasquale Barbaro who was shot dead alongside Jason Moran as the pair watched children play football in 2003, during Melbourne’s gangland war.
An older Pasquale Barbaro was killed in Brisbane in 1990, another was shot dead in Sydney in 2016 and a fourth was jailed for at least 30 years in 2012 over his role in importing into Australia a huge stash of ecstasy pills hidden in tomato tins.
On Monday, County Court judge Michael McInerney jailed 30-year-old Pasquale Barbaro – a concreter also known as Pat or Patrick – after police found one kilogram of ice, 925 grams of MDMA and 186 grams of cannabis inside a cereal box within a garage wall in his Taylors Hill home on June 13, 2018.
Police also found a pistol in a cupboard in the kitchen. Officers were at the time investigating a drug trafficking ring in Melbourne’s western suburbs.
