A suspect has been arrested in connection with an abandoned boat found packed with bales of hashish on Farol island yesterday
In a statement, the PJ said there are “strong indications” that the man, who was “undocumented and in an irregular situation in Portugal”, is related to the transportation of the drugs found in the boat.
Police were called after a local spotted the boat at around 6.30am yesterday [Thursday] morning. It was towed to Faro docks where PJ police took over the investigation
