After busting multiple illegal cannabis grow operations across August, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office uncovered nearly 11,500 illegal cannabis plants.
Members of the sheriff’s office special investigation unit served search warrants to six properties in Nevada City and two properties in Grass Valley that had noted activity of illegal activity.
Illegal cannabis operations pose numerous health and safety concerns to the community at large,” the sheriff’s office wrote.
The busts resulted in 11,498 illegal plants and 497.5 pounds of processed cannabis being seized and destroyed by law enforcement.
Two people were arrested at separate properties in Nevada City for illegal cannabis cultivation.
