South Dakota: Sioux Falls City Council appoints members to medical marijuana task force

The Sioux Falls City Council has appointed two people to a joint task force aimed at creating ordinances around medical marijuana for the city and both Minnehaha and Lincoln counties.

The motion, which was approved 7-0 at Tuesday’s council meeting, appointed Councilor Greg Neitzert to the task force, as well as Erica Beck, the chief of staff to Mayor Paul TenHaken.

Their counterparts on the task force would be Minnehaha County Commissioners Cindy Heiberger and Gerald Beninga, and Lincoln County Commissioners Jim Schmidt and Tiffani Landeen. Both commissions voted to appoint members to the task force on May 25, and are expected to report their findings before July 31.
