The premier CPA firm servicing organizations in the legalized medical and recreational cannabis industry is looking for a Tax Director/Partner. We provide technical and business advisory expertise to our clients in tax compliance, financial and business consulting, and accounting services.

Role

The Tax Director/Tax Partner is a well-seasoned tax professional with in-depth technical and industry knowledge with an active CPA license to practice tax regulation and advisory in the United States. The Tax Expert is responsible for assisting clients with their financial and income tax statements. Their work includes preparing tax forms, advising on tax payments, identifying tax savings, and analyzing tax issues. This individual is responsible for advising clients, providing clear direction when requesting financial data, analyzing tax data submitted by clients, and filing and submitting tax returns.

Who we’re looking for:

The following is a partial list of responsible duties:

· Previous and continuous work experience with the Drake/ProSeries/Thomson Reuters tax software / relevant tax software

· Experience with tax preparation of: 1040 / 1120S / 1120 / 1065, etc

· Working knowledge of U.S. Income Taxes

· Act as a liaison between our Clients and the internal company

· Assist with general tax, marketing and branding opportunities

· Reaching out to existing and potential Clients

· Help collect contact information and organize information in a coherent manor

· Research local city municipality cannabis ordinance

· Assist our Clients with applying for local cannabis licenses

· Ensuring compliance with local and state cannabis regulations and respective taxes

· Help our marketing team with content ideas, generate and create new content, etc.

· Technical tax review and approval of tax returns

· Assist with Assurance engagement

The ideal candidate should have the following characteristics:

· Exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and communication skills

· Working knowledge of the U.S. Tax forms and a desire to learn more about taxes and compliance facing the cannabis industry

· Ability to work under time constraints and tight timelines

· Exceptional excel skills

· Strong knowledge of AICPA auditing standards, audit methodology, and US GAAP

· Knowledge of IFRS preferred but not required

The candidate must have the following professional experience:

· At least 5 years of public accounting experience working in Tax and (at a level of Senior Associate or Tax Manager)

· Active CPA license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
