THE NATIONAL LAW JOURNAL NAMES BRETT SCHUMAN A CANNABIS LAW TRAILBLAZER

The National Law Journal highlighted Schuman’s ongoing representation of leading edibles company Kiva Brands in what is considered one of the first federal trademark infringement cases involving cannabis-based products. The publication also noted his representation of Raw Garden on trademark infringement matters, and his success as lead counsel for electronic vaporizer company PAX Labs in multidistrict litigation across the country.

A partner in the firm’s IP Litigation group and chair of the San Francisco office, Schuman is the founder and co-head of Goodwin’s Cannabis practice. He advises businesses on investment opportunities in the cannabis market and counsels cannabis industry clients regarding the federal and state regulatory regimes relating to cannabis, IP issues, products liability and a variety of litigation matters.
