Top Democrats in Connecticut House say odds improving on legal cannabis this year; vote could come next week

The Hartford Courant reports…

HARTFORD — Lawmakers are moving closer to an agreement on a bill that would legalize marijuana in Connecticut, with a vote in the General Assembly possible next week.

“I feel good about us coming to an agreement before the end of this week,” House Majority Leader Jason Rojas told reporters at a legislative briefing Tuesday morning. “We met again last night and we’re going to meet again today and continue chipping away at some of the details.”

House Speaker Matt Ritter, D-Hartford, said the odds are moving in favor of passage. Just 10 days ago, he put the bill’s chances at 50-50.
