A couple of days ago Linked in worries about. • March 13-15 – Spannabis, Barcelona, Spain.

We contacted them yesterday with a direct enquiry about the conference after seein the Linked In posts below. As yet haven’t received a response, but then fair enough. It isn’t the easiest of times. It appears from the list above they have seen the error of their ways ( Unlike, i hasten to add, the Legalex Legal Tech Conference in London that we are currently in London for and have had to take early flights home and cancel a stand while they sit on their hands to try and preserve their revenues rather than their clients . Not sure they’ll have many fans when they try to sell the conference next year)

This message came in from ICBC (Spannabis) last night

ICBC Barcelona

We deeply regret to inform you that ICBC Barcelona is canceled due to the US/Europe travel ban that was implemented a few hours ago this morning by the United States government. Due to this unfortunate occurrence, many of our exhibitors and attendees are currently scrambling for flights back to the US and other respective travel destinations. The health and safety of our patrons and their families are of the utmost importance. More information will be forthcoming. We are very sorry for this inconvenience.

Everybody, please stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you at the next ICBC under better circumstances.

Thank you,
Alex Rogers

This lot still think April will be safe.. we fear not

Cannabis Conference 2020
Cannabis Conference 2020 scheduled to go on as planned.
Cannabis Conference 2020 and its parent company GIE Media want to assure attendees, speakers and exhibitors that we understand their concerns about the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and are committed to a safe and healthy environment for all event participants. Event safety is our No. 1 priority.

Cannabis Conference 2020 is scheduled to go on as planned. We are continuing to monitor daily developments related to the disease outbreak and potential impact on global travel to Las Vegas for the upcoming conference.

Currently, our meeting hotels, Paris Las Vegas and Bally’s, are operating normally. Any changes to operating status will be communicated immediately to all registered conference attendees, speakers and exhibitors.

Cannabis Conference is working closely with Paris Las Vegas and Bally’s to:

  • Add hand sanitizer stations throughout the event space, including the exhibition hall and meeting rooms;
  • Make sure all catering sanitation protocols are being followed;
  • Increase the cleaning schedule of all public areas;
  • Arrange for “No Handshake” buttons and stickers provided to attendees at registration; and
  • Post large signage to remind attendees of hygiene best practices and guidelines provided by CDC.

The Centers for Disease Control has issued guidance for COVID-19 prevention and treatment, including the following:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask.
    • CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
    • Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. The use of facemasks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
    • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

CDC’s full guidance can be reviewed here.

No health authorities have issued any travel notices, precautions, or guidance relating to travel to Las Vegas. According to the Southern Nevada Health District, southern Nevada and resort properties have not been identified as being at higher risk for disease transmission.

We ask anyone who may be feeling ill to take responsible cautionary measures and stay home.

Based on current registration numbers, Cannabis Conference 2020 is expected to grow its attendance by 35% over 2019. Major conferences across the United States, and in Las Vegas, are continuing to happen as scheduled, including CONEXPO (March 10-14)—which has drawn more than 120,000 attendees.

We will continue to provide updates on any new developments on our website( and via email.
