Professional Certificate in Cannabis Plant Biology For dispensary personnel, growers, extractors, and quality control personnel Developed by UVM’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, this certificate program explores cannabis chemicals, genetics, and agricultural best practices, as well as the systems, processes, facilities, and equipment necessary for producing cannabis-based products.

Offered by the Department of Pharmacology, this certificate program gives healthcare professionals knowledge and confidence to treat patients safely and effectively, with an understanding of the indications, counter-indications, benefits, and risks of cannabis.

As the field of psychedelic research expands with additional evidence-based research, UVM cannabis faculty include presentations regarding mushrooms focused on how psilocybin and psilocin affect the human body. Students in both Cannabis Plant Biology and Cannabis Science and Medicine certificate programs will also learn about emerging evidence of psychedelics.
