South Australia: Cannabis and quad bikes seized

A hydroponic set up was located in Wingfield last week.

About 9.30am Thursday 30 November following an investigation Western District police attended an industrial premises to conduct a search.

Inside police allegedly located 147 cannabis plants being grown hydroponically, approximately 85kg of dried cannabis and three quad bikes suspects of having been obtained unlawfully. It is further alleged electricity had been diverted to the premises.

Police arrested a 46-year-old Nairne man and a 17-year-old Osborne boy at the scene. They have been charged with cultivate large commercial quantity of cannabis, possess large commercial quantity of cannabis for sale, and divert electricity.

The 46-year-old appeared in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court and was remanded to appear on 7 December. CO2300045019 & CO2300044956

The 17-year-old was bailed to appear at the Port Adelaide Youth Court on 11 January. No case file number at this time.
