Village Farms launches two cannabis brands in the UK

Village Farms International Inc (TSX:VFF) shares moved slightly higher after it announced that it has launched two of its cannabis brands in the United Kingdom.

The Vancouver-based company said its Pure Sunfarms and The Original Fraser Valley Weed Co. brands will be distributed by Canadian medical cannabis company 4C Labs, which holds import and distribution licenses in the UK and has a wide pharmacy network.

It added that the launch includes three of its most popular strains in Canada: Pink Kush, Jet Fuel Gelato and D. Burger.

“This launch of our leading B.C.-grown cannabis brands is a game-changer for patients in the UK, the third most populated country in Europe,” Village Farms CEO Michael DeGiglio commented.

“We are proud to launch brands and products in the UK that have driven our top-three market share performance in Canada, while also proving successful in other international markets.”

Village Farms shares traded up 1% at US$0.77 in early trade on Wednesday.
