The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong attorney, reporting directly to the General Counsel, who will have responsibility for a wide range of legal matters in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment. This role will put you in a position to work closely with leadership on executing the company’s strategic agenda, key transactions and collaborations, mitigating risks, and providing insight on all contracts and other legal matters. In addition, Legal Counsel will be engaged in matters around corporate development and partnerships that will further the growth of the company. The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter with good business acuity who enjoys a fast-paced environment and can contribute both as a lawyer and a businessperson to LeafLink’s growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Actively collaborate with a wide variety of LeafLink teams, including Engineering, Product, Finance, Go-to-Market, and Marketing on a range of issues related to product development and commercialization.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret a variety of transactional and commercial agreements with our customers, vendors, and partners, including SaaS, technology, FinTech products and services, and data licensing agreements.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel business partners on a variety of legal issues in connection to customer relationships, regulatory matters, and commercial agreements.
  • Work with outside regulatory counsel to understand and support the regulatory regime in which LeafLink and its customers operate
  • Support the General Counsel with the management of a wide variety of legal matters, special corporate, commercial, and human resources projects
  • Draft, review, and update foundational processes for product and service offerings
  • Revise, update, and maintain master service, non-disclosure, and other standard form agreements and terms and conditions
  • Help build scalable and effective processes for legal review and launch of new products

Who You Are

  • You work collaboratively and maintain excellent customer service
  • You have the ability to work quickly and independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • You have significant experience in drafting, negotiating and interpreting commercial and transaction agreements relating to SaaS, FinTech products and services, master services, data licensing, technology, and general commercial transactions
  • You have broad legal knowledge that enables you to spot and resolve a variety of legal issues in upcoming product offerings (e.g., regulatory, contract, IP, privacy, consumer protection, risk); and an ability to identify and clearly communicate practical, risk-based solutions
  • The ability to effectively prioritize and advance a large number of matters, often on tight deadlines.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the desire and ability to develop productive and collaborative working relationships with multiple stakeholders across LeafLink
  • Curiosity and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get into the details of novel and complex business models
  • Prior experience in rapidly scaling organizations, including managing demanding timelines from multiple business stakeholders
  • At least three years of relevant legal experience
  • Outstanding academic credentials
  • New York or California Bar membership
  • A top-tier law firm background
  • Excellent judgment, communication, and organizational skills
