2024 Year end marks the end of provisional renewals in California which have been available since legalization. Overall, pursuit of new commercial cannabis licenses is declining and many operators retired their licenses this year.
After much discussion over the last year of Potential Impact of Rescheduling, many do not believe that rescheduling will offer much relief in the near future and nobody has any real insight on what impact rescheduling will have on the current state legal cannabis market.

2023 & 2024 were mostly a desert for growth transactions. There’s been a lot more offloading and long-predicted consolidation. Our prediction for 2025: we will start to see more growth acquisitions.
