Resolution 1780/2025 updates the regulatory framework of REPROCANN to improve the traceability, safety and therapeutic use of medicinal cannabis.
The Ministry of Health established new requirements for registration in the National Registry of Cannabis (REPROCANN) through a Resolution published in the Official Gazette. The regulations repealed the previous resolution and redefined the conditions for access and cultivation of cannabis for medicinal purposes, with the aim of improving traceability, safety of the production process and avoiding misuse.
Mario Lugones, Minister of Health of the Nation, led the presentation of the measure and explained that this update responds to “the adverse effects of the system as it is currently regulated ” and seeks a “rearrangement of the regulatory framework for growers for therapeutic use ”. In addition, it warned about “the improper and abusive use of the tools provided by the ” regulations, in particular the figure of “third party solidarity ” for commercial purposes.
New categories and requirements for enrollment in REPROCANN
The regulations establish three main categories for enrollment in REPROCANN: self-cultivators, third-party growers and authorized legal entities. Patients with a medical indication for the therapeutic or palliative use of cannabis are included in the autocultivator category. These patients can be represented by direct relatives, guardians, curators or legal representatives, provided they prove this condition.
