As the mother of Billy, the little boy who nearly died and ultimately changed the UK’s cannabis laws opening the door for industry and someone who has spent years fighting for access to medical cannabis, I’m absolutely furious
Patients have done everything asked of them, navigating legal, financial, and emotional hurdles, only to be handed mouldy medicine?
It’s nothing short of outrageous.
And what’s worse? Parts of this industry seem to think it’s acceptable. Well, it’s not. It’s not just bad practice, it’s negligent.
We’re seven years into medical cannabis being legal in the UK. So why is the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency still allowing this to happen? Why are patients being treated like they don’t matter?
To the public, to regulators, to the industry: this has to stop. Patients deserve clean, safe, consistent medicine not to be put at risk. This isn’t just a failure of regulation. It’s a failure of decency. Enough is enough.
