Rabat – Early Friday, National Security forces in Sidi Ifni intercepted an international operation involving drug smuggling and illegal immigration by sea, confiscating roughly 1,922 tons of hashish.

Authorities discovered a two-engine rubber boat on a beach about five kilometers from Sidi Ifni, bound for Tiznit.

The vessel carried seven people, gasoline containers, and fifty packages of the narcotic substance.

The arrested individuals now face a judicial investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor.

Officials are looking to determine the scope of their involvement in a case tied to international drug trafficking and organized maritime migration.
