Bavarian authorities slow down cannabis clubs

2025-08-29 | The cultivation association franken.Cannabis may be facing closure, according to KrautInvest. On August 13, the Bamberg District Office prohibited the use of the hall for the distribution and cultivation of recreational cannabis, and an urgent application before the Bayreuth Administrative Court failed. Chairman Martin Pley suspected that Bavaria intends to circumvent the federal KCanG legislation.
According to the court, the original approval from January 2024 was limited to outdoor cultivation and machine halls, but the current project involves additional cultivation areas and distribution points. Media reports indicated that Bavaria is approving only a few clubs and that lawsuits against conditions are pending in several cases.
