I did a very simple keyword search of the US patent database, so the hits surely under-represent all the patents out there.
I downloaded over 10,000 patents, then eliminated those that weren’t relevant and many of those that were either abandoned or had expired.
I was left with over 8,700 patents.
‼️ Anyone who thinks there’s been no research on cannabis or no patents on cannabis because it’s Schedule I is mistaken.
Over half the patents are for ligands, that is, natural or synthetic cannabinoids or other substances that act on the ECS
There are substantial patents on cannabis activity all along the supply chain:
Cultivation
Harvesting
️ Processing
Vaping
Smoking
Detecting
Information Processing
