Cannabis by mail: $50,000 prank or on purpose? ….Oklahoma City law firm receives a box of cannabis worth about $50,000 in the mail. This is the second time it’s happened in four years.

“So we opened it up and it was 10 pounds of pot,” said Noble McIntyre a senior partner at McIntyre Law Firm of the box filled with marijuana that came regular mail on Friday.

McIntyre said after doing a chat GPT search, he learned the street value of the marijuana was worth about 50,000 dollars.

He said the vacuum-sealed contents stunk up his office once they opened it.

“First thing we did was call the police to make a report,” said McIntyre.

He said this is the second time it has happened in four years.

He added the first time the office received a box, he contacted a local postal inspector but he never heard back from them.

McIntyre said this time he contacted a friend of his who is an Oklahoma City police officer.

He said when the police came to pick up the box filled with marijuana they were shocked he was turning it in.

“I think the concern most people would either do it for personal consumption or there’s value there they might be able to sell it,” said McIntyre.

While he is not certain, McIntyre said there could be many different reasons as to why the marijuana was shipped to him specifically with no return address on the box.

He said as a personal injury attorney, he goes up against many insurance companies involving multimillions.

He adds they could do this as a way of blackmail.

McIntyre said, “Send me an illegal shipment of drugs for which I’m not going to report they would presume, and then later, at some point, let me know that they know that and use that as leverage.”

He said another criminal element is someone looking for a third party as a drop point for their drugs.

“They ship it to a law firm, let a few weeks go by and then show up and say you’ve committed a felony. Where are my drugs,” said McIntyre.

According to the USPS, some hemp-based products can be sent through the mail throughout the U.S. and its territories by following the proper guidelines.

A Cannabis-derived substance with a 0.3 percent content of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) or less is legally hemp.

McIntyre said if this happens a third time, his next phone call will be to Homeland Security.
