“Cannabis cookies” were among more than £9,000-worth of illegal goods seized from an American-style candy store in the heart of London.
The 26 tubs of CBD-laced biscuits in four different flavours were brazenly stacked on shelves in the shop in Piccadilly Circus.
Westminster Council’s environmental health and trading standards teams swooped after a tip-off and found the treats, which flouted the law as they were not on the UK’s National Register of Novel Food.
Officers rummaging behind the counter also uncovered a stash of 45 packs of illicit cigarettes, along with nearly 300 dodgy single-use vapes plus nicotine and heated-tobacco products without English labels.
