Mothra Madness in Rome was offering more than just magical services after a drug bust found the new age boutique selling marijuana and illegal mushrooms, according to a statement from the New York State Police.
On April 8, members of the New York State Police Troop D Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team, with assistance from the Rome Police Department and the New York State Office of Cannabis Management, executed a search warrant at Mothra Madness, located at 303 Erie Blvd. W., Suite 2, in the city of Rome.
Described as a metaphysical and new age boutique offering rare gemstones, tarot decks, books and ritual tools, the store’s website claims its mission is to help customers ” … Calm the Chaos, Embrace the Magic” as they explore their spiritual journey. The store was alleged to be operating as a front for the sale of illegal psilocybin mushrooms and cannabis products.
