Notice of proposed rulemaking to adopt regulations to allow group tagging of cannabis plants
The Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) is providing notice to the public of its intent to promulgate regulations that would eliminate the requirement to individually tag cannabis plants and establish
The proposed regulations are intended to simplify compliance for cultivation licensees by reducing labor-intensive tagging and recordkeeping requirements. The changes would lower compliance costs, reduce administrative burdens, and decrease environmental waste by reducing the number of single-use plant tags that must be discarded.

How to submit a public comment
DCC will accept comments on the proposed regulations through Monday, July 27, 2026.
