Curaleaf International has launched a free CPD-accredited online education platform for UK healthcare professionals to help close the training gap the country’s professional medical community continues to face.
Despite estimates suggesting the UK now has some 60,000 active medical cannabis patients, no official structured learning is available for those wanting to educate themselves on treatment.
Curaleaf International is now hoping to fill that gap with its free, newly launched Curaleaf Education Platform, based on real-world prescribing data from its UK Medical Cannabis Registry, the largest clinical database of its kind with records from more than 55,000 patients, translating outcomes data into practical clinical guidance rather than theoretical frameworks.
The curriculum will focus on three core pillars, including foundational science covering phytocannabinoids and the endocannabinoid system, core clinical knowledge spanning formulations, safety and prescribing management, and advanced modules on pain, neurology and psychiatry.
Completion awards CPD accreditation that can be applied retrospectively, enabling GPs, consultant-level clinicians and pharmacists to log prior professional development in the field.
