The Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1) seized nearly P5 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 30 suspected drug personalities during a weeklong series of anti-illegal drug operations across the Ilocos Region from 22 to 28 July.
PRO 1 said police conducted 27 anti-drug operations during the period, resulting in the confiscation of illegal drugs with a combined Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P4,995,729.60.
The largest operation was a marijuana eradication campaign in Sugpon, Ilocos Sur, led by the 2nd Ilocos Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company. Authorities discovered and destroyed two marijuana plantation sites containing about 23,000 fully grown marijuana plants spread across approximately 2,000 square meters.
