New Law Expands Opportunities for Cannabis Microbusinesses
Governor Kathy Hochul signed legislation expanding opportunities for New York’s licensed cannabis microbusinesses to participate in Cannabis Showcase Events (CSEs). This authorizes microbusiness to conduct retail sales in partnership with cultivators and dispensaries and bring their own regulated products directly to consumers at approved events, including farmers’ markets and other community settings.
The legislation creates another pathway for microbusinesses to connect with consumers, increase visibility for their products, and participate more fully in New York’s regulated cannabis marketplace.
OCM thanks the bill’s sponsors, Senator Michelle Hinchey and Senator Liz Krueger, for their partnership and leadership in advancing this legislation and creating greater opportunities for New York’s cannabis microbusinesses.
