Colorado . “Marijuana Hospitality Business License Appication” Forms Now Available

The Marijuana Hospitality Business License Application is available on the Division’s website and can be found on the Division’s Applications and Formspage.

Pursuant to section 44-10-305(2)(b)(II)(A), C.R.S., a business operating a location before December 31, 2019, at which the consumption of marijuana is permitted pursuant to local ordinance or resolution, may continue to operate until a state license is approved or denied if the business applies for a state license on or before December 31, 2019. Beginning on January 1, 2020, any hospitality business that has not applied for a state license shall cease operation until it obtains a state license and any required local license.

Applicants may submit their Marijuana Hospitality Business License Application in person or by mail with all required attachments and requisite fees to the Marijuana Enforcement Division’s Lakewood Office at 1707 Cole Boulevard, Ste. 300, Lakewood, CO 80401. Further, please note Controlling Beneficial Owners of a Regulated Marijuana Business must be found suitable and possess an Owner License. Businesses operating pursuant to the above-noted provision may submit their Suitability Application(s) simultaneously with a Marijuana Hospitality Business License Application. When planning for the submission of your state application, please note the Division offices will be closed on the following days:

  • Tuesday, December 24, 2019
  • Wednesday, December 25, 2019
  • Tuesday, December 31, 2019 (offices will close at 2 p.m.)
  • Wednesday, January 1, 2020

Except for the days specified above, Marijuana Hospitality Business License Applications may be submitted in person from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lakewood Office. See MED’s website for office details. Please note that licenses issued by the State Licensing Authority are conditioned on local approval. Refer to your local ordinance, resolution, and/or regulations for local jurisdiction requirements.
